Boxing Day

Oh, right. That was a few weeks ago. But boxes are so useful all year round. There’s always something a bit exciting about opening a box, isn’t there? You never know if you’ll find a treasure or just a pack of old cigarettes.

At Halcyon House, we love boxes, too. We have some gorgeous ones in stock right now, just the perfect place for stashing your jewelry, some love letters or just the TV remotes!

This bone box has the most amazing detailing. It’s highly decorated and the plain black and white sets off the elaborate design.

Patterns & Textures

I love finding the pattern and textures in pieces and then looking at their geometry. It’s easy to spot patterns in almost everything, and while I was at the shop over the weekend, I looked around for interesting patterns and textures.

Christmas Decorations, Redux

About two years ago, Stiles and Jonathan’s house was featured in Style Magazine. So, just to get you in the holiday spirit… and to show you that too much is just right, we thought you’d like to see what the house looked like that Christmas!

Adopt the practice of filling a Revere bowl with beautiful glass and other ornaments

Jonathan is an amazing gardener and grew all of the amaryllis from bulbs, and timed them to bloom right at Christmas. They tuck in magnolia leaves from a tree on their property.

More amaryllis and some cyclamen brighten the front hall.

Place the tree in front of a window, so it can be enjoyed from all angles!

Even though there are loads of ornaments, the tree is pretty simple.

Flowers are everywhere and they make a big statement!

The wood paneled walls just glow in the candlelight and have the most beautiful patina.

There is much to admire people who take the time to decorate for the holidays!

Holidays at Halcyon House!

It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays at Halcyon House Antiques. The season was launched with cocktails at an evening party and the house looked fantastic!

Everywhere you look, you see signs of the upcoming holiday season.

There are Christmas trees everywhere in all shapes, colors and sizes.

There are any number of baubles to hang from your tree.

And of course, there are gifts galore!

And for the gents, a special room dedicated to manly gifts.

Fur-ever!

There’s nothing better than snuggling up to something soft and furry! Halcyon House has just the thing for doing that!

We found the most incredible, amazing and soft faux fur collars. They’re just the thing to wrap around your neck on a cold day.

The faux fur is so natural that you really have to double and triple check to see whether it’s real or really faux.

We also have headbands that will keep your ears nice and toasty on a cold day!

Carded

When we were at the gift show in the summer, we spotted the most hilarious cards! We couldn’t resist ordering them for the store and for you!

Now that it’s well and truly fall weather out, and we’re not likely to go back into the 80’s, we have a lot of new fall and winter items in stock for you.
