End of Summer!

We are quite astonished to realize that it’s already the end of August! We are going to take some time off after a busy summer, to rest up for the fall season.

We’re kicking it off with the Portobello Road Pop-Up Shop with our friend from Pigtown*Design, beginning on September 16th.

The Maryland Horse: An Artist’s View

On Monday evening, Halcyon House held an art opening to benefit Maryland’s horse industry, and the Maryland Thoroughbred Foundation. Local artist Sam Robinson, who is frequently seen at equine events in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia, had his work was featured at this exhibition.

More than 60 of Sam’s recent works were shown and the sales benefitted the Maryland Thoroughbred Foundation. By the end of the evening, red dots were scattered all over, indicating that the paintings had been sold. (These pictures were taken before the crowds arrived!)

Luckily, there was a break in the weather and we had the most gorgeous evening, so we threw the windows open, put the bar on the back patio and took advantage of the Maryland spring!

The exhibition will be up until mid-June and we hope that you will come visit.

We Do Ladew

Once again, Halcyon House is participating in the Ladew Gardens for the 2016 Garden Festival on Saturday, May 7th.

Halcyon House will be bringing a wide range of items for you, your house and even your garden. We will look forward to seeing you there!

It’s All About the Green!

In celebration of the beginning of spring, and of course, St. Patrick’s Day, we have chosen a selection of green items at Halcyon House! Valentines Day!

Just a little reminder that Valentine’s Day is on Sunday. Of course, Halcyon House Antiques is the PERFECT place to come find a gift for the one you love… even if it’s you!

Going Global

We all remember those cheezy plastic snow-globes that were around when we were kids. The snow was chunky stuff and the globes inevitably leaked after a few days. 

At Halcyon House, we have the most amazingly beautiful snow-globes that are a whole world away from the ones as kids.

These snow-globes are large and heavy and have tons of snow in them that floats lightly to the ground when you shake them. 

My favorite is the Buddha one, just so serene, made in a frosted crystal, with sparkly shimmery snowflakes.

O, Christmas Tree!

Do you know that the song, “O, Christmas Tree” has the same tune as “Maryland, My Maryland”? It’s true!

At Halcyon House, we have lots of Christmas trees, both large and small.

We have table-top trees (much smaller than the one above) in many styles and shapes.

These decorative trees are great for supplementing your decorating scheme, tucking into small places and arranging on a mantelpiece. There are actually seven trees on the mantel!

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like…

Well, you know what it’s beginning to look a lot like!  Adorable HEDGEHOGS!We are just starting to stock Halcyon House Antiques with baubles and balls, beautiful ornaments and an exquisite collection of snow globes. I wish I could show you the little video I made of this Buddha snow-globe, but the internet isn’t cooperating.
